Alert: Payment for Leave of Military Personnel and Employees of Various State Bodies is Incorrectly Calculated
Recently, I have been receiving reports that the annual leave payments for the military personnel and employees of various state bodies of Armenia are being incorrectly calculated.
This was stated by the chairperson of the Standing Committee on Human Rights Protection and Public Affairs of the National Assembly, independent Taghuhi Tovmasyan, on her Facebook page.
She also noted, “Specifically, concerns were raised regarding the existing practice related to Article 169, Part 1 of the Labor Code of Armenia. In this regard, I organized a working discussion in Parliament with representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Defense, the Police of Armenia, and the Corruption Prevention Committee, as well as with human rights defenders and members of an initiative of reservist military personnel.”
The discussion focused on the issues arising from the application of the legal regulations stipulated in Article 169, Part 1 and Article 158, Part 1 of the Labor Code of Armenia, and the clarification of pathways for resolving the identified problems.
Through the example of E. Hovhannisyan, we conducted an engaged discussion, noted that the issue has been appealed in court, and agreed to clarify subsequent steps after the issuance of the relevant court decision. The issues related to the rights of military personnel are extremely relevant for me.”
