Police Searches Ksenia Sobchak's Mansion

The Russian television star Ksenia Sobchak is currently facing police searches at her mansion near Moscow, according to TASS agency.

According to the source, the law enforcement actions are part of a criminal case initiated against Sobchak's commercial director, Kirill Sukhanov, on charges of extortion. Sobchak herself does not hold any status in this case.

Sukhanov was arrested yesterday, and Sobchak has characterized his arrest as yet another instance of pressure on journalism in the country.

“They have no reason to stick to me, and that frustrates them. They constantly arrest my journalists, and now they have come after Kirill and are fabricating a case against him,” Sobchak reacted.
