Peskov on the Putin-Pashinyan-Aliyev Meeting

Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, has informed journalists about the preparations for a trilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as reported by gazeta.ru.

“We hope that it will take place, and we will provide additional orientation regarding the date and time,” said the Kremlin spokesperson.

On October 24, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, announced that Vladimir Putin has invited Aliyev and Pashinyan to Russia for another trilateral summit to discuss several trilateral and bilateral issues. The diplomat noted that Moscow is concerned that the West is trying to transfer “the confrontation schemes developed in Ukraine” to the South Caucasus region.

Nevertheless, Zakharova emphasized that attempts by external forces to incite conflict between Moscow and Yerevan will not succeed.

According to the Foreign Ministry representative, Western emissaries are frequently visiting Armenia “under the guise of the European Union, OSCE, and France,” with “hastily concocted initiatives” aimed at removing Russian peacekeepers from the region.
