Varazdat Lalayan Becomes Double Champion of Europe

The European Weightlifting Championship for athletes under 23 years old concluded with the victory of world silver medalist Varazdat Lalayan.

In the +109 kg weight category, the reigning European champion from last year achieved a total lift of 440 kg in the clean and jerk competition. Besides Varazdat Lalayan, European champion titles in the clean and jerk were also awarded to Gor Sahakyan (67 kg, M20), Milena Khachatryan (76 kg, M20), Liana Gyurjyan (81 kg, M20), Suren Grigoryan (89 kg, M20), Garik Karapetyan (96 kg, M20), and Ara Aghanyan (96 kg, M23).
