Stabbing Reported as Construction Site Incident

On October 23rd, at 12:55 PM, the police department in Hrazdan received a report from the Hrazdan Medical Center regarding a 53-year-old man being transported with a severe neck wound. The 52-year-old man accompanying him informed the doctors that a metal rod had fallen on his friend's neck during construction work.

However, an operational group dispatched from the Hrazdan police quickly clarified that the injury was the result of a stabbing. A criminal case was initiated in connection with the incident. Through operational and investigative measures taken by the Regional Directorate of Kotayk police, it was discovered that around 12:45 PM, during a heated argument over financial matters at a construction site on Saralanj Street in Tsaghkadzor, the man had been stabbed by a 65-year-old resident of the village of Pambak in Gegharkunik Province.

Further cooperation ensued between Hrazdan police officers and the personnel of the Vardenis police department. Later that same evening, approximately at 9 PM, the perpetrator was located and arrested in Pambak village and presented to the Kotayk regional investigative department. A personal search revealed the knife used in the crime, which had traces of blood on it. The circumstances of the incident are still under investigation.
