Journalists Killed in Kherson Shelling

Journalists Killed in Kherson Shelling

Journalists from the 'Tavria' TV radio company have come under shelling in Kherson. Oleg Klokov has been killed, while Ruslan Voskresensky, Konstantin Mochar, and Vlada Lugovskaya have been injured. This information was shared by Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the regional administration.

“Vlada's grandfather died during the missile strike,” he added on his Telegram channel.

Another deputy head of the regional administration, Ekaterina Gubareva, confirmed Klokov's death, noting on her Telegram that he was a Russian journalist and producer who had come to develop 'Tavria' television station on his own initiative in early October.

Klokov previously worked at 'Moscow 24', RT, the First Channel, and the Moscow government. Gubareva expressed her condolences to the family of the deceased on behalf of the regional administration.

According to the latest data from the Russian Investigative Committee, four people died as a result of the strike, and another 13 were injured. Stremousov had earlier stated that “the journalists were targeted to eliminate those who are covering the situation in the Kherson region today.”

The names of the other two victims (besides Klokov and Vlada Lugovskaya’s grandfather) have not yet been disclosed. At least one of them may be an employee of 'Tavria'. Gubareva wrote that among the casualties are two employees of the television and radio company, and information about Klokov has already emerged.

The Russian Investigative Committee reported that Ukrainian forces used American HIMARS missile system cluster munitions filled with shrapnel elements to cause greater damage. A criminal case has been initiated.
