Death Toll from Explosion in Turkish Mine Reaches 14

The death toll from the explosion in the Bartın mine in northern Turkey has risen to 14, announced Turkey's Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, as reported by RIA Novosti. Earlier, two fatalities had already been confirmed.

The explosion occurred in a mine located in northern Turkey, and there are workers trapped under the rubble, as reported by CNN Turk. A Haber television network, citing local authorities, stated that at the site of the explosion, which occurred 300 meters deep, there were 115 workers present, some of whom have been rescued. Governor of Bartın Nurtacı Arslan mentioned that 49 workers remain trapped.

Turkey's Interior and Energy Ministers, Süleyman Soylu and Fatih Dönmez, have been dispatched to the explosion site by the directive of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
