Court Reviews Pashinyan’s Speech on Kocharyan, Hearing Rescheduled
On October 5, at the Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Sergey Sahakyan, the speech of the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on March 1, 2021, was reviewed.
The court examined the evidence available in the case, as well as the speech's coverage on the internet and in the media, including the number of views it received. However, during the direct research of this material on the internet, a technical issue arose, leading to the rescheduling of the court session.
It is noteworthy that the civil suit pertains to statements made by Nikol Pashinyan during a rally held at Republic Square on March 1 last year. In April, Robert Kocharyan's lawyer, Haik Alumyans, filed a lawsuit aimed at protecting his honor and dignity against defamation expressed publicly and seeking compensation for non-material damages caused by defamation.
