Azerbaijan Found and Executed 6 Armenian Soldiers Who Survived for Months, Sahakyan Reports Several Horrifying Incidents Since 2020
During the 2020 war, incidents of both individual and collective executions were recorded. A particularly distressing case involved six soldiers who, after months of struggling to survive in the forests of Hadrut, were ultimately executed, with their bodies handed over to the Armenian side by Azerbaijan. This was stated today at a press conference by Siranuş Sahakyan, president of the International and Comparative Law Center.
“There is also a positive case where six soldiers were found alive due to search operations. However, following this incident, in areas where Armenian soldiers might be hiding, the Azerbaijani side prohibited any humanitarian actions and intensified their search efforts. They discovered surviving Armenian soldiers, who were, of course, in degraded health and exhausted, and in an inhumane manner executed them, subsequently handing over their bodies to the Armenian side,” Sahakyan noted.
Commenting on the international community's stance, Siranuş Sahakyan emphasized that for a long time, the international community has equated the positions of Armenia and Azerbaijan, thereby justifying its inaction.
