Caparros' Farewell Letter and the HFFF Statement
The former head coach of the Armenian national team, Joaquin Caparros, has written a farewell letter in which he states: “After a successful meeting, we reached a mutual agreement with the Armenian federation to conclude this phase with the national team. It was an honor to be the coach of the Armenian national team, and I want to thank the federation, its entire staff, the players, and especially the federation president for the time spent working together on this inspiring project.
Finally, and in particular, I appreciate the support we have received from all the fans and their help in feeling the greatness of this country and its national team, for which I am very proud of the wonderful moments we’ve shared together, and there has not been a day that I haven’t thought about how lucky I have been to work with this team. I wish you the best. I will always be by your side,” wrote Caparros, according to armsport.am.
The head of the Public Relations and Media Department of the Armenian Football Federation, Hayk Karapetyan, commented on reports that Russian coach Andrey Talalaev might lead the Armenian national team: “Our federation has not established contact with Andrey Talalaev, nor have we conducted any negotiations with the specialist. Only 2 days have passed since Joaquin Caparros left. Our search is still ongoing. There are many candidates, but there are no negotiations or official offers yet. There is still plenty of time before the next match. For this reason, we are considering various specialists,” Karapetyan said in an interview with Sport24, as reported by ArmSport.am.
