The Chief Prosecutor Has Dismissed Another Official
The Chief Prosecutor of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, has dismissed the head of the Department for Crimes Committed Against State Authority. The information was published on the prosecutor's office website.
The Chief Prosecutor signed the order based on the application of Vahagn Janazyan. According to the document, he will leave the position on October 3.
It is noteworthy that after her appointment as the Chief Prosecutor, Anna Vardapetyan immediately dismissed the Deputy Prosecutor General, Military Prosecutor Vahe Harutyunyan. Later, she also dismissed her deputies Armen Afandyan and Hayk Aslanyan.
Additionally, the deputies of Vahe Harutyunyan, Arsen Sardaryan and Sevak Hovhannisyan, were also relieved of their duties.
Currently, Vardapetyan has two deputies, Anna Galyan and Gevorg Baghdasaryan, who were appointed to their positions in August and September of 2020.
It should be reminded that Arthur Davtyan's term ended this September, and he no longer had the right to run for re-election. The position was taken over by Anna Vardapetyan, who is the first female Chief Prosecutor in the history of Armenia.
