Surmalu Owner to Request Demolition of Partially Collapsed Building: City Hall

The owner of Surmalu is preparing a project to submit to the city hall for the demolition of the partially collapsed building. This was stated by Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan in an interview with News.am.

"The city hall will grant permission for demolition work to be carried out, and the owner will prepare a project, which should be submitted to the city hall in the coming days. The city hall will then grant permission, and the owner will carry out the demolition at their own expense. The city hall did not have the authority to take action there; a request had to come from the owner. Additionally, a criminal case had been opened, and the investigation took a long time, making it impossible to demolish the building until a conclusion was reached," Sargsyan noted.
