David Tonoyan Will Remain in Custody, Lawyer Says
The former Minister of Defense of Armenia, David Tonoyan, who is involved in the missile case, will continue to remain in custody. This information was disclosed to Sputnik Armenia by his lawyer, Sergey Hovhannisyan.
The Anti-Corruption Court has rejected the request to change Tonoyan's pre-trial detention to bail and to release him.
“We are currently drafting an appeal to present to the Court of Appeal,” Hovhannisyan stated. The justification for the court's decision remains the same: the former minister may exert influence on individuals involved in the case, a argument that the lawyer considers baseless.
He emphasized that Tonoyan's apartment was offered as a guarantee for changing the pre-trial measure.
