‘He Was Convinced Even During the First War’: Vazgen Manukyan on Ter-Petrosyan
The former Prime Minister of Armenia, Vazgen Manukyan, has announced on his Facebook page that at the request of ‘Ankakh’, he has commented on the interview given by Levon Ter-Petrosyan to Public Television on September 26.
“Levon Ter-Petrosyan is very far from the current global politics. As for his defeatist 'pragmatism', this is not a novelty; during the first Artsakh war, he was convinced and ‘proved’ with paper and pencil that we were going to lose. It is no coincidence that during the war, he suggested that I, his opponent, become the Minister of Defense, so that the blame for the anticipated defeat would fall on me. But the opposite happened.
Regarding the gathering of presidents at the Catholicos, I was initially convinced that it would yield no results. It was the most unproductive format that could be considered in this situation, and I had also expressed my opinion to some of the participants. Regardless of everything, I believe that even in this difficult and seemingly hopeless situation, there are opportunities to solve our national and state issues,” he stated.
