A Nightclub Dancer Was Sprayed with Tear Gas and Robbed of $9,000 and 220,000 Drams
On September 26, at 06:54, a 21-year-old girl living in one of the buildings on Leningrad Street called the police operational management center and reported that an unknown man sprayed her face with tear gas and stole her handbag, which contained $9,000, 220,000 drams, documents, and bank cards.
The police stated that detectives from the Malatya division, in cooperation with the criminal detectives of Yerevan, identified the perpetrator as a result of operational-investigative measures.
A 30-year-old resident of Tumanian Street in the capital was found at the Bagratashen border checkpoint on the same day. He was arrested and transferred to the Malatya division of the police, where he provided a confession to the investigative body. During his personal search, the stolen money was discovered.
A criminal case has been initiated against the 30-year-old under Article 252 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. He has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
According to Shamshyan, the victim, A. Aslanyan, is a dancer at the "Crazy" nightclub.
