New Details on Upcoming Referendums in Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kherson Regions Regarding Joining Russia
According to the pro-Russian authorities in the separatist regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, referendums on joining Russia are scheduled to take place from September 24 to 27. This was announced by the "People's Council" of the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic."
Denis Miroshnichenko, the head of the "People's Council" of the "Luhansk People's Republic," also confirmed this decision.
Local authorities in the Russian-controlled areas of the Kherson region have made a similar decision, as stated by the head of the military-civilian administration of Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo.
Russia recognized the independence of these two self-proclaimed entities on February 24 and signed mutual assistance treaties with their leaders, followed by the deployment of troops into Ukrainian territory just hours later.
