Putin Appeals to Yerevan and Baku
Any conflict situation between Azerbaijan and Armenia raises serious concerns for the Russian Federation, and Moscow calls on the parties to maintain the ceasefire. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a ceremony for the presentation of credentials to foreign ambassadors on Tuesday, according to TASS.
“I want to emphasize that any conflict situation raises serious anxiety for us. We urge everyone (Azerbaijan and Armenia) to exercise restraint, strictly maintain the ceasefire, and decisively adhere to the trilateral statements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia,” said the Russian president.
Measures are being taken through the CSTO to reduce tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Putin said.
“I would like to note that measures are being taken by the organization (CSTO) regarding the escalation of the situation in the Armenian-Azerbaijani border area. A special mission has been sent to the conflict zone under the leadership of the CSTO Secretary General. He has been tasked with preparing proposals for the Collective Security Council based on the results of studying the state of affairs,” said the Russian leader.
