«Let us stand for our Motherland, perhaps it's the last anniversary to bring her back», Raffi Hovhannisyan's statement
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Raffi Hovhannisyan, has made a statement which we present below.
“September 21. The last one to bring back the Motherland. Instead of a festive declaration, the 31st anniversary of the restoration of the Republic of Armenia’s sovereignty has been turned into a mockery of that very sovereignty, a seemingly unannounced nationwide mourning, with countless light-heroes, missing persons, and new prisoners of war hidden in dishonor.
Our Motherland has been turned into a warehouse subject to surrender, publicly justified by the enemy's 'negotiation artistry'.
There is nothing more to say about a constitutional violator, a traitor, a commander-in-chief who has failed, who is devoid of the state duty and responsibility to leave promptly, who cowardly always blames others and justifies himself, who remains indifferent to the pain and betrayal of his fellow citizens, who has partisanized the national awakening and subsequently privatized it, thus enriching his family and entourage with seats and material wealth.
And there is not a single act of repentance from him or regret, aside from the formalities. From the state bodies too—silent inactivity, if not to say, criminal complicity.
The enemy has entered our country—our homes, killing our boys and girls, while he talks about the negotiation artistry of the enemy’s gaze fixed on 'Yerevan'. Today is not a ceasefire. It will never lead to peace in any way.
Citizen Pashinyan, as long as he is among us, the Republic will condense its spiritual downfall. Armenia will continue to shrink and submit, the Armenian person, the citizen will demean, our golden generation will be sacrificed. Name by name, homeland address by address.
Let us move already. As separate will-souls but in parallel. That is, together. And finally without saviors—old or new. Let us stand for our soldier, for our rights, for our Motherland. Perhaps it is the last anniversary to bring her back.”
