Arsen Khanzhyan Becomes European Champion
On the third day of the European Sambo Championship held in Novi Sad, Serbia, member of the Armenian national team, world and European champion Arsen Khanzhyan (98 kg) won a gold medal. This information was reported by the Armenian Sambo Federation.
In his first match, he defeated Israel's Simon Iosif by a score of 6:2. In the second match, Arsen managed to take down his Azerbaijani opponent in half a minute, scoring a clean victory. In the third bout, he defeated his Belarusian opponent with a score of 2:1.
In the final, Arsen achieved victory over Russian Vyacheslav Mikhailin with a score of 3:1, becoming the European champion.
It is noteworthy that in the 64 kg category of sport sambo, Maksim Manukyan won a bronze medal on September 17, while in the 58 kg category of combat sambo, Hamlet Sukiasyan earned a silver medal.
Moreover, the Armenian youth team secured 1 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal on September 15, and on September 16, they garnered a total of 6 medals, including 2 gold and 4 bronze.
