Poland Makes Its Largest Investment in Armed Forces in History
Poland's Deputy Minister of Defense Marcin Ociepa has stated that "There is a serious danger of war with Russia; according to our assessments, it will occur within three to ten years maximum." Poland needs to "use this time for maximum possible rearmament."
Poland's defense budget is set to reach 20.5 billion euros in 2023, accounting for 3% of the country's GDP. Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak has reminded that approximately 120 million euros are expected to be spent on the expansion and modernization of the Polish army, which constitutes the "largest contribution in the country's history" in this regard.
The Polish state plans to increase its combat forces to 300,000.
