Erdogan Accuses the West of Provoking Russia and Ukraine

During a joint press conference with the President of Serbia, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the ongoing military actions between Russia and Ukraine, stating that he disagrees with the Western countries' approach to the situation in Ukraine.

According to a report by Armenpress, as relayed by the Turkish Anadolu news agency, "Turkey is committed to a balanced policy towards Ukraine and Russia, and will continue to do so. Ankara advocates for an early ceasefire in Ukraine. However, current processes indicate that the war will not end soon," Erdogan said.

Erdogan noted that those who do not take Russia seriously are mistaken. "I openly declare that the Western position is incorrect. Because there are actions in the West that are aimed at provoking the parties involved. They announce military aid, but in fact, whatever outdated weapons and scrap metal exist in the West are being sent to Ukraine," he stated.

He emphasized that as long as there is a political agenda that incites military operations, the effectiveness of peace initiatives is minimized.
