New Details Emerge on the Murder of Darya Dugina

The Federal Security Service has revealed details about the murder of journalist Darya Dugina. According to reports from RIA Novosti, the agency's public relations center stated: "It has become clear that the crime was planned and executed by Ukrainian special services. The perpetrator is Natalya Vovk, a citizen of Ukraine, born in 1979," the statement said.

Vovk arrived in Russia on July 23, 2022, with her daughter Sofia Shabani (born in 2010). They rented an apartment in the Moscow building where Darya lived to gather information regarding Dugina’s lifestyle and to organize the assassination. On the day of the murder, Vovk and Shabani were at the 'Tradition' literary-music festival, where Dugina was a guest of honor.

After detonating the 'Toyota Land Cruiser Prado', Vovk fled to Estonia with her daughter via the Pskov region. Notably, former State Duma MP and a vocal opponent of President Vladimir Putin, Ilya Ponomarev, claimed last night that Darya Dugina was killed by Russian partisans. "It is time to declare who carried out this act. Like many other partisan actions carried out within Russia, this one was executed by soldiers of the National Republican Army," Ponomarev stated.

It is important to recall that on Saturday, Alexander Dugin and his daughter Darya attended the 'Tradition' patriotic festival, and the explosion occurred as they were returning home from this event. Investigators have reported that an explosive device was placed in the SUV. According to some reports, Dugin himself was also supposed to be in the vehicle.

In recent years, Darya Dugina had become one of her father's closest associates. Concurrently, she actively presented herself as an independent 'political scientist' and columnist, appearing under the pseudonym Platonova in pro-government media, criticizing the West and supporting the entry of Russian troops into Ukraine. The Russian Investigative Committee believes that the crime was premeditated and ordered.
