Identity of Deceased and Injured from Gunfire in Ejmiatsin Revealed: They are Peers

The Identity of the individuals who died and were injured as a result of gunfire in Ejmiatsin has been clarified by the investigators of the Armavir regional investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

According to shamshyan.com, the hospital admitted 27-year-old Aram Mikayelyan from the city of Ejmiatsin, diagnosed with "gunshot wound to the anterior chest wall, critical condition" and 27-year-old Arthur Araakelyan, also from Ejmiatsin, who sustained a “blind bullet wound to the vascular line on the left side, liver, right kidney, small intestine damage, and severe traumatic shock.”

Shortly thereafter, A. Mikayelyan died after failing to regain consciousness. It was revealed that on the same day, around 21:30, an unidentified person opened fire with an automatic weapon towards the Mercedes G500, license plate 10 QC 777, driven by A. Mikayelyan at the intersection of Abovyan and Tumanyan streets in Ejmiatsin, resulting in both A. Mikayelyan and his passenger A. Araakelyan sustaining gunshot wounds. The shooter fled the scene.

Injured A. Mikayelyan drove the vehicle towards the “Vagharshapat” medical center but crashed into a Ford, Mercedes, BMW, and VAZ 2106 vehicles in front of 14 Gnunyan Street, which caused the BMW driver, 21-year-old Hrachya Grigoryan from Armavir region, to seek medical assistance at “Ashtarak Medical Center” with injuries classified as "contusions to neck tissues and muscles, concussion of the brain under question mark."

A “Makarov” type handgun was found at the accident scene, and one shell casing fired from the automatic weapon was located at the site of the gunfire. The police and investigation department are undertaking necessary operational investigative measures to identify the unknown individual responsible for the crime and to locate the weapon used in the commission of the crime.
