Shooting Resembling Action Film Occurs in Ejmiatsin: One Dead, One Injured
Today, on August 18, an incident resembling an action film occurred in the Armavir region.
At approximately 21:40, the Vagharshapat police department and the emergency situations ministry's 911 crisis management center received a report of a car collision on Gnunyan Street in Ejmiatsin. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan from the scene, two individuals with gunshot wounds were transported to the 'Vagharshapat' medical center by ambulances from the Vagharshapat hospital.
The police discovered several vehicles at the scene, including a 'Yashik' with multiple bullet marks on it. Currently, investigators and forensic experts are working at the site. While they were conducting their examination, Vagharshapat police officers, led by the head of the department and the operational deputy, received information that shots had been fired at the 'Yashik' from Abovyan Street in Ejmiatsin. The driver of the 'Yashik' was wounded and managed to drive towards the hospital, where the accident occurred.
A 'Makarov'-type pistol was also found near the 'Yashik', and blood-like traces were discovered inside the vehicle. The police and investigative department are working to ascertain the identities of the deceased, the injured, and the drivers of the crashed vehicles. According to G. Shamshyan's information, the father of the deceased was a former police officer.
