Large Fire in Gegharkunik Province

Today, August 18, a large fire broke out in Gegharkunik Province. At approximately 16:15, the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call at the 911 crisis management center reporting that a fire had erupted in the administrative area of Shatjrek, part of the enlarged community of Vardenis.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, one firefighting unit arrived promptly from the 34th Fire and Rescue Squad of the Gegharkunik Provincial Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. It was discovered that the fire had ignited in the roof of the former Haypost building, which has now turned into a pile of ashes. Firefighters have extinguished the blaze.

According to preliminary information, fortunately, there are no casualties.
