Anahit Avanesyan Makes a Statement Regarding Victims of the Surmalu Explosion

Armenia's Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan has made a statement regarding the victims of the explosion at the Surmalu shopping center on her Facebook page.

"At this moment, specialists assess the condition of our fellow citizens injured in the explosion at various medical centers as satisfactory. I want to mention that there will soon be more discharges. My condolences to the families of the deceased, their relatives... Patience to all of us...," she wrote.

Avanesyan expressed gratitude to all the doctors, rescuers, and volunteers who, by joining forces, are trying to do everything possible to save lives and quickly locate those missing.

It is worth reminding that an explosion occurred at the Surmalu shopping center on August 14 at around 13:23. The current number of casualties stands at 6, with 19 citizens reported missing. The treatment of 13 injured individuals continues in various medical centers.

A total of 350 rescuers and 150 volunteers are participating in firefighting efforts. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
