Ministry of Defense Comments on Reports of Continuous Fire Towards Vayots Dzor

Information has been spreading online that the Azerbaijani side has once again opened fire towards the Armenian positions located in the Vayots Dzor region. In a conversation with Auroranews, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Aram Torosyan, stated that the defense agency reports on all border incidents, should they occur, and urged the public to follow only official news sources.

It is noteworthy that journalist Nairi Hoxhikyan had raised an alarm, stating that “the Azerbaijani armed forces have been firing for hours towards the Vayots Dzor direction on August 9, which can be distinctly heard in particularly Elpin and nearby villages. Does the Armenian army have a command for retaliatory fire? When will official Yerevan issue information regarding the enemy's aggression, demonstrating that shots are being fired at the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia?”
