Tense Situation: China Announces Military Operations Set to Begin Tonight

The agency emphasized that the United States is playing with fire by attempting to restrain China with Taiwan's assistance.

“In response to Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan, we will take all necessary measures to protect state sovereignty and territorial integrity. The United States and Taipei will bear the responsibility for the consequences,” the statement read.

The White House has declared that Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Pelosi's visit does not violate China's sovereignty.

Meanwhile, the Chinese military has announced the initiation of military measures. This was reported by IZ.ru as well. China's Eastern Theater Command announced that a series of military operations will commence this evening near Taiwan. China also announced military exercises in six maritime areas around Taiwan, scheduled from August 4 to 7.
