Armenian Foreign Ministry Responds to Helicopter Crash in Gudauri

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has expressed condolences regarding the helicopter crash during a rescue operation in Gudauri. This was stated by the spokesperson for the Foreign Minister, Vahan Hunanyan, on his Twitter page.

“We are deeply saddened by this news, which has resulted in loss of life. We extend our condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased. We express our solidarity and support to the friendly Georgian people and government,” wrote Hunanyan.

It is worth noting that the helicopter belonging to the border police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, which was searching for paragliders stranded in the gorge, crashed into a rock and exploded. At the time of the crash, there were 8 individuals onboard: 4 crew members, 2 rescuers, and 2 doctors. As a result of the incident, 9 people lost their lives.
