Grozny-Moscow Plane Sends Distress Signal Over Caspian Sea, Disappears from Flightradar

A passenger plane flying from Grozny to Moscow has sent a distress signal over the Caspian Sea, reports TASS, citing aviation service sources.

According to the source, the Boeing flight from Grozny has alerted distress while flying at an altitude of 3,000 meters over the Caspian Sea. The aircraft departed from Grozny Airport about half an hour ago. The reason for the alert has not yet been disclosed.

It is also reported that the Boeing has disappeared from the Flightradar map.

Earlier, a passenger plane flying the Sochi-Omsk route raised a distress signal in the skies over Kazakhstan. Before this, a passenger Airbus operating a flight from St. Petersburg to Sochi also sent a distress signal while flying over Kazakhstan. Later, it climbed again and headed towards its destination.
