Lavrov Criticizes Macron’s Remarks as Offensive, Calls for More Correct Expressions from the French

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has commented on the statements made by French President Emmanuel Macron, labeling them as offensive. Lavrov advised Macron to use more correct expressions. His remarks were cited by "Izvestia."

Earlier, Emmanuel Macron expressed concerns regarding Russia's expanding diplomatic and military ties in Africa, stating that Russia is visiting Africa and supporting utterly failed illegitimate regimes and juntas.

"As for President Macron and his statements, one could have expected more correct expressions from the French. If we look at the list of countries we have visited, it is quite offensive to those states that continue to systematically develop relations with the Russian Federation," Lavrov stated.

On July 26, during a press conference with Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Lavrov assured that the role of the African continent in Russia's new foreign policy strategy would significantly increase.
