Azerbaijan Constantly Reminds That the War is Not Over, Pressures Will Continue: Abrahamyan

MP Tigran Abrahamyan from the "Honorary Title" faction writes on his Facebook page: "The recent Azerbaijani activity towards Artsakh and Armenia, which is expressed through various violations of the ceasefire regime, has different reasons. Here are a few observations on this topic:

  1. In the post-war period, the parties are forming new front lines, which implies a race to establish favorable positions in the areas. For the most part, Azerbaijan has managed to achieve its main objective right after the war, taking advantage of the political leniency and silence of the Armenian authorities, gaining tactical and strategic advantages in key directions. There are certain areas where positional fighting is still ongoing, accompanied by situational changes.
  2. Azerbaijan uses its positional advantages and continuously reminds the Armenian authorities that if promised verbal/written agreements are not fulfilled, the use of force will again come to the forefront on various scales.
  3. Due to the seasonal nature of engineering works, activity on the front line has increased, which inevitably leads to escalations of various nature.
  4. Azerbaijan views any movement of our armed forces—ranging from internal reorganizations to infrastructural changes on the front line—as an attempt at revenge and shows that it is ready to counteract at any cost.
  5. Azerbaijan constantly reminds that the war is not over, its claims are far from being satisfied, and regardless of the conciliatory policy of the Armenian authorities, pressures will continue, and the demands placed against the Armenian government will expand."
