The Main Thing is That There Are No Hidden Games: Russia's MFA on Yerevan-Baku Relations

Moscow is not opposed to new actors joining the process of normalizing relations between Yerevan and Baku, provided they operate within the framework of trilateral statements and without hidden intrigues. This statement was made by Ivan Nechaev, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“The main thing is that there are no repetitions and hidden games aimed at weakening someone or inserting a stick between the wheels. Unfortunately, we have repeatedly encountered similar practices by the mentioned figures,” he said.

According to him, Russia advocates for turning the South Caucasus into a region of peace and prosperity, promoting an exclusively constructive agenda in regional matters and is not intending to compete with anyone.

Regarding the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan, he reminded that appropriate efforts should be made based on the trilateral statements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia dated November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021, and November 26.
