Listening to Nonsense is Not Safe: Zakharova Responds to Borrell
The official spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has responded to the complaints of the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, regarding the fact that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is more well-known in Western media than himself.
“Josep, the Western media is simply protecting their mental health by preferring Lavrov over you. We are what we eat, including information. In Britain, the host of the pre-election debate fainted after Liz Truss’s latest nonsensical statement. Listening to nonsense is not safe. And quoting it even more so,” Zakharova wrote.
Borrell had previously stated that there is a trend in the Western media to 'listen to the enemy.' He lamented earlier today that “Lavrov is going to Africa to try to convince Africans that European sanctions are to blame for everything that is happening, and that this is being echoed by the entire Western media.”
