Illegally Acquired Property from Manvel Grigoryan's Heirs to be Seized
On June 28, 2022, the First Instance General Jurisdiction Court of Yerevan received the twelfth application regarding the seizure of illegally acquired property, which was accepted for proceedings on July 11, 2022.
According to the latest application, the Illegal Property Seizure Division of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has filed a request to the court to seize from the heirs of Manvel Grigoryan and related individuals in favor of the Republic of Armenia specifically:
- 28 real estate properties located within the territory of the Republic of Armenia,
- 16 vehicles,
and in case of impossibility, their average market values, totaling over 2,552,000,000 AMD, as well as shares in 6 legal entities.
The total amount of loan claims pertaining to the legal entities is 668,160,803 AMD. Additionally, 19,236,606 AMD is noted as the remaining balance of illegally obtained monetary assets, 18,656,316 AMD as the remaining balance of deposits, and 17,027,871 AMD that cannot be substantiated by the individual's legitimate income is deemed to have illegal origins and cannot be seized, based on Article 20, Paragraph 4 of the law on the seizure of illegally acquired property.
In the near future, the division will also present further claims for the seizure of illegal property in other cases, where preliminary measures have already been applied.
