Video: Large-Scale Tax Evasion Case Disclosed

The National Security Service of Armenia has revealed significant evidence regarding tax evasion through a thorough operational investigation conducted by its Yerevan city department.

It has been established that the head and other responsible figures of a limited liability company, which rents premises at the "Vernissage" marketplace located at 1/5 Buzand Street in Yerevan, had conspired to sublet the stands in the marketplace during the period from 2019 to 2022. They rented out each square meter for 1000 AMD per day, without providing receipts for a portion of the clients, while for others, they accepted 1000 AMD in cash and provided receipts indicating only a 500 AMD payment. This way, they concealed the company's real turnover while manipulating data in reports to the Armenian State Revenue Committee, hiding tax objects, and committing other fraudulent acts, ultimately evading a total of 233.5 million AMD in taxes.

In response to this large-scale tax evasion case, the investigative department of the National Security Service has initiated criminal proceedings under Article 290, Parts 3 and 1 (a) and (b) of the Criminal Code of Armenia. The case has been forwarded to the supervising prosecutor to determine jurisdiction.

The National Security Service urges business entities to operate exclusively within the legal framework and to refrain from engaging in illegal activities.
