VIDEO: How a Man Abducted a 6-Month-Old Baby from a Stroller in Russia

In Tambov, a man snatched a six-month-old baby from a stroller and ran through a busy intersection, according to 360 TV.

The mother pursued the assailant until he threw her onto the hood of a car. The mother and several drivers managed to retrieve the baby from the grasp of the unstable man.

The 51-year-old man explained his actions by stating, "I want to go to prison." He has been taken into custody, and a psychological assessment has been ordered.

The baby was unharmed and was X-rayed at the hospital before being sent home.

According to reports, the man had previously owned a business but fell into debt and was declared bankrupt last year. It seems this may have led Edik to desire imprisonment as a means of escaping further troubles.
