Russian President Vladimir Putin has dubbed calls circulating in the EU to save water and electricity to irritate him as nonsense and madness.

This statement was made during a plenary session at the forum of the Strategic Initiatives Agency on the theme “Powerful Ideas for a New Era”.

According to Putin, he was shown a picture that is spreading in European media just the day before. The image depicts a person with the caption below: “Do you want to anger Putin? Just wash these four areas.” The picture also specifies which parts of the body need to be washed.

“What is this? Have they completely lost their minds... it’s just madness,” said the Russian president.
