68-Year-Old Driver Involved in Pedestrian Accident in Yerevan

Today, July 19, a pedestrian accident occurred in Yerevan. At around 00:05, a 68-year-old resident of Yerevan, Ruben H., struck a pedestrian, 27-year-old Arakel H., with his Renault car at the intersection of Tumanian and Abovyan streets.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver did not flee the scene and helped the injured pedestrian. He promptly assisted in getting the victim transported to the ‘Erebuni’ medical center by the emergency medical team number 015 that arrived at the scene.

The first to aid the injured were citizens, doctors, and the police officers from the 1st platoon of the 3rd battalion of the Yerevan Police Patrol Service, Ispir Agajanyan and Arman Hovsepyan. The acting commander of the battalion, Albert Hovhannisyan, also arrived promptly.

Information about the accident was relayed from the Yerevan police patrol service to the Traffic Accident Investigation Division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, where an investigative team led by department head Gor Tadevosyan, deputy head Samvel Samvelyan, and investigator Gegham Sargsyan arrived.

A proceeding has been initiated by G. Sargsyan regarding the accident.
