Armenia Must Strengthen Its Eastern Front as Soon as Possible: Hokhikyan
Through Yerevan, the authorities of Russia and the USA are sending messages to each other, or worse, the situation in our region is so explosive that the intelligence services of both superpowers are attempting to maintain control at the highest levels. This was stated by media expert and television commentator Nairi Hokhikyan on his Facebook page.
The intelligence services of the world's two major poles have placed Armenia under a magnifying glass at the highest level. This does not bode well for me.
Last week, CIA Director William Burns made an unannounced visit to Armenia. Today, the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin, is arriving in Yerevan. What did the American intelligence chief discuss in Yerevan, and what will the Russian intelligence chief discuss?
I have a rough understanding that through Yerevan, the authorities of Russia and the USA are sending messages to each other, or worse, the situation is so explosive in our region that the heads of the intelligence services of both superpowers are trying to maintain control. Moreover, maintaining control does not necessarily mean peaceful means. War and other actions can also be considered controllable, as was the case with the 2020 negotiated war.
In any case, Armenia is obliged to strengthen its eastern front as quickly as possible, especially in the directions of Karvachar, Kashatagh (Lachin), Kovsakan (Zangelan), and Vorotan (Gubatly). Let's not forget the danger posed by Nakhichevan.
