On July 16, in Tbilisi, hosted by Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, a meeting took place between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan. The two ministers addressed a wide range of issues concerning the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. They discussed the progress of commitments made in this regard and exchanged thoughts on possible future steps.

Minister Mirzoyan reiterated the Armenian perspective that the political resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is crucial for achieving enduring and stable peace in the region, emphasizing the importance of utilizing the institution and experience of the OSCE Minsk Group in accordance with its international mandate. He highlighted the need to address humanitarian issues, including the release and repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war and the clarification of the fates of missing persons. The parties expressed their willingness to continue communications.
