The US Does Not Plan to Leave the Middle East: Biden
US President Joe Biden has announced that the United States intends to remain active in the Middle East and does not plan to "leave" a "vacuum" that could be filled by countries such as Russia, China, or Iran.
"Let me be clear, the United States intends to remain active in the Middle East," Biden said at a press conference in Saudi Jeddah, which was broadcast on the White House website.
Biden noted that it is becoming clear how closely America's interests are linked to success in the Middle East. "We will not leave and create a vacuum for China, Russia, or Iran to fill," the US president added.
It is noteworthy that Biden was in Saudi Arabia for his first official visit as part of his Middle Eastern tour.
