Wear Masks: Rise in COVID-19 Cases Reported in Armenia
COVID-19 cases are increasing in Armenia, similar to trends observed worldwide, according to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
In the last 14 days, there has been a 6.8% increase in the incidence of the virus, with cases rising 2.6 times compared to the previous 14 days. Over the past week, 506 new cases were recorded, marking a 107% increase from the week prior. The reproduction rate of the virus stands at 1.56, indicating a continuing trend of rising infections.
“Given the situation related to the coronavirus, the Ministry of Health urges everyone to consistently adhere to safety regulations aimed at preventing the disease: get vaccinated against COVID-19, receive booster doses on time, especially if you are in a high-risk group, wear masks, wash hands frequently with soap or use disinfectant, avoid mass gatherings, particularly if you have any symptoms, maintain social distance, and ventilate closed spaces regularly. The use of masks is particularly important in enclosed spaces, on public transport, and in medical institutions. In case of symptoms characteristic of the coronavirus, it is essential to consult a doctor for appropriate tests, treatment, and advice,” the statement noted.
