Temperature in Yerevan and 2 Regions to Reach +42°C

From July 16 to 20, the weather in the territory of the Republic of Armenia is expected to be dry without precipitation. This information is provided by the Press Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia.

The report notes that winds will be blowing from the southeast at a speed of 2-5 m/s. In the early evening hours, the wind is expected to intensify to 15-18 m/s in the regions of Armavir, and in the foothill areas of Aragatsotn and Kotayk.

Temperatures are projected to rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius by tomorrow.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations warns, “The territory of the republic continues to be affected by tropical hot air currents from the Arabian Peninsula, which is why, until July 20, daytime temperatures in the Ararat Plain, the foothills of Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor, as well as in Yerevan, are expected to reach +42 degrees Celsius.”

It’s also noted that high fire danger conditions are anticipated in the valley and foothill areas of the republic. The intensity of ultraviolet radiation will be above normal.

It is recommended to avoid direct sun rays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
