Armenia's Ombudsman on Armen Grigoryan's Death

The Ombudsman of Armenia, Kristinne Grigoryan, has addressed the circumstances surrounding the death of detained producer Armen Grigoryan in a courtroom.

“It is extremely unacceptable and concerning that the right to health of an individual is not guaranteed in places of detention under preliminary detention conditions, and that health issues are not properly identified and addressed, leading to such tragic consequences. I have requested clarifications from the Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Justice regarding the diagnosed illnesses of Armen Grigoryan, the measures taken for their treatment, and other possible circumstances that led to his death. I will be persistent in holding those responsible accountable. My condolences go out to Mr. Grigoryan's family and friends,” she stated.
