VIDEO: Footage of Abe's Assassination Attempt Released

Footage of the assassination attempt on Japan's former Prime Minister has been released. Japan's police reported that Shinzo Abe was conscious immediately after the assassination attempt, but his condition worsened during transport.

Earlier, emergency services indicated that the former Prime Minister was in a state of "cardiac and respiratory arrest." The politician is currently receiving treatment at Nara Prefectural University Hospital.

The suspect in the shooting has been arrested. He is identified as a former member of Japan's Self-Defense Forces, according to Nihon TV.
