Azerbaijani Soldiers Hit Civilian Car in Yeghipuli Village Area
In the area of Yeghipuli village along the Yerevan-Jeraskh-Yeghegnadzor highway, Azerbaijani soldiers have targeted a civilian vehicle. This was reported by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly’s "Honorable Profession" faction, on his Facebook page.
Geographically, the path leading to the village branches left from the main highway, heading inward, which also signifies its vulnerability towards the main highway area.
The incident occurred recently, at approximately 16:15, according to the Ministry of Defense, when the Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire using various weapons, including heavy-caliber firearms, against the Armenian combat positions located in the western section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, particularly in the region of Vayots Dzor around Yeghipuli village, as well as towards the road leading to the village, resulting in damage to a civilian car.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan made advances in this area in July 2018, just 2-3 months after the well-known events in Armenia, posing a significant threat not only to the neighboring communities but also to the interstate highway connecting Yerevan, Jeraskh, and Goris.
A few days ago, Azerbaijan also opened fire on a civilian vehicle in the direction of another village in Vayots Dzor region, Kachik, again resulting in damage to a civilian car.
Most likely, at this stage, Azerbaijani pressures will manifest from the direction of Nakhchivan to secure more favorable positions for Azerbaijan in the regional unblocking process and to compel additional concessions from the Armenian authorities.
