Mercedes Vehicle Knocks Down Gas Columns in Kotayk Province, Gas Supply to Several Villages Halted

Today, on July 4th, an extraordinary incident occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 19:30, a Mercedes vehicle veered off the roadway under still unknown circumstances at the 2-kilometer mark of the Mrgashen-Kanakerravan inter-village road. The vehicle collided with several gas pipelines, breaking them and ending up in a field.

According to Shamshyan.com from the scene, fortunately, there were no injuries reported following the accident. Firefighters halted the gas leak from the vehicle and cordoned off the area. The breaking of the gas pipelines caused a gas leak, and the operational team from 'Gazprom Armenia' based in Abovyan quickly arrived on the scene to shut off the gas in the affected area. They are currently undertaking necessary work to replace the broken support columns and repair the damaged gas pipelines to restore gas supply to several villages in a timely manner.

The traffic police are investigating the driver's identity.
