Discussions about Arthur Vanetsyan's participation in the Yerevan mayoral elections have yet to take place within the 'Fatherland' party. This was echoed by the party's spokesperson Sose Hakobyan in a conversation with NEWS.am, addressing speculation that Arthur Vanetsyan, by resigning his mandate, is gearing up to participate in the mayoral election.

'Firstly, there is still time for that process, and it remains unclear whether those elections will be regular or extraordinary. Therefore, at this moment, we are occupied with other matters; we are developing a strategy where the mayoral election is not a priority. At this point, there are neither discussions nor decisions regarding that,' Hakobyan stated.

Recall that on June 21, the leader of the 'Honorary' faction, Arthur Vanetsyan, released a statement announcing his resignation of his mandate, indicating that the parliamentary mandate has never been an end in itself for him, but merely a tool to serve the country and the state— a tool that is no longer applicable for him today.
