«There is a great threat to our annihilation,» Abrahamyan on Pashinyan’s statement
The deputy of the National Assembly from the "Honorary Title" faction, Tigran Abrahamyan, indicated that on June 15, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated in the National Assembly that during the post-war period, the budget for Artsakh was historically the highest. Pashinyan assured that Artsakh has not been left alone.
He emphasized that the speaker of these words is the one "whose disgraceful political actions have led to 75% of the Republic of Artsakh being occupied or handed over to Azerbaijan."
“This is said by someone, who initiated that military conscription from Armenia to Artsakh is no longer carried out. This is said by someone who has been able to mislead Armenians living in Artsakh, Armenia, and the diaspora, saying that he is coming with a peace agenda and that we are entering a period of peace, and now he says, you know, peace does not only depend on us, and that there is a great threat to our annihilation,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
“By the way, from both political and moral viewpoints, it is inappropriate to speak about the social assistance allocated to Artsakh, simply because 35-40 thousand people have been deprived of their homes, land, and water; the economy of Artsakh and its infrastructure have suffered significant blows. In this case, the mission of any Armenian government should have been to protect and support its compatriots. I will talk about these allocations and their effectiveness on another occasion.”
“Have you ever heard any former leader of the Republic of Armenia speak almost every month about the budgetary allocations to Artsakh or additional programs? Of course not. Because that was natural, it was a regular phenomenon for everyone. Continuously reminding a person from Artsakh who has lost their homeland that they have no home, lost loved ones, but you know, we are providing you social assistance, is far from all kinds of moral, human, and logical norms.”
“It is good they are not saying that the large-scale loss of military equipment during the war and the optimization of military units is the result of reforms implemented in the army. I continue to assert that there is primarily a moral crisis in Armenia before any political crisis, and overcoming the political crisis will be very difficult without overcoming the moral one,” Abrahamyan concluded.
